DB2 Database Recovery Software Features :

Recover DB2 database using Menubar Options :
- File : The first option of the menubar allows you to repair the file by using below options:
- Select Database : The option allows you to select the corrupt file that you need to repair.
- Start Repair : The sub-menu option allows you to start the repair process.
- Stop : The sub-menu option allows you to stop the repair process.
- Exit : You can exit from the software using this option.
- View : The option allows you display the Toolbar, StatusBar, and MessageLog embedded into the software.
- Tools : The menubar button lists below two options to maintain the logs generated by the software:
- Save Log : The option in Menubar allows you to save the record of all processes which are performed by Stellar Phoenix DB2 Recovery v1.0. The records are saved in a text file.
- Clear Log : The option in Menubar enables you to clear (delete) the record of all processes which are performed by Stellar Phoenix DB2 Recovery v1.0.
- Activation : The full version of the software can be activated using below two options:
- Activation Online : The option in Menubar allows you to activate Stellar Phoenix DB2 Recovery v1.0 online.
- Manual Registration : The option in Menubar allows you to register Stellar Phoenix DB2 Recovery v1.0 manually.

Stellar Phoenix DB2 Recovery v1.0 is capable enough to repair DB2 database components after all the underneath error messages:
- An error occurred while storing the next synonym set to the dictionary file
- Synonym XML file could not be accessed.
- The program is unable to proceed with the installation of IBM DB2 Data Warehouse Edition because the operating system is not supported.
- An error occurred while validating field. It is assumed to be valid.
- SQL0298N "BAD CONTAINER PATH"
To recover DB2 database components using Stellar Phoenix DB2 Recovery v1.0, you will need to follow the below steps:
- Download the software and launch the program.
Note: You will need to install DB2 on the system on which Stellar Phoenix DB2 Recovery v1.0 is installed.
- Choose from 'Repair corrupt database stored at default location' or 'Manual selection of database for recovery' as per your requirement. Click OK to continue.
- In case you select 'Repair corrupt database stored at default location' option, follow the below steps to repair your database :
- A list of all the databases located on the default location will be displayed on the screen.
- Double-click to select and open the database.
- A list of all recoverable data appears. Preview and then select the data that you need to recover.
- In case you select 'Manual selection of database for recovery' option, follow the below steps to repair your database :
Note: For manual recovery, you will need to create a folder and save SQL00001 and SQLDBDIR and all the containers into that folder.
- Click browse to map to the folder containing SQL00001 and SQLDBDIR and all the containers. Click OK to continue.
- A list of the data stored will be displayed under 'Select Location of Containers' dialog box.
- Click 'Select Path' to map all the files to the new location.
- Select between 'Default Location' or 'Select New Location' to store the repaired database. Also select the destination drive in 'Select Destination' dialog box.
- If you select the ‘Select New Location' option, you have to choose a different locations to store the database files and the containers.
- Click 'OK' to select the start the repair process.
Note: The recovered database objects are automatically attached to DB2 database.
Stellar Phoenix DB2 Recovery Limitations :
- Tables with clustering cannot be recovered
- Tables with partitioning cannot be recovered
- Indexes on tables cannot be recovered
- Columns having user-defined structure data types cannot be recovered
- Supports only Single Partitioned DB2 database
The free downloadable demo version of the DB2 database recovery software allows you to preview GUI (Graphical User Interface) and analyze all its features. While you can preview the recoverable file objects using the trial version, it does not allow you to store the repaired file. To do so, you will need to buy the complete version of the software.
