How to take MS Outlook email backup using Stellar Mail Backup software?

 Modified on: May 2, 2018 |    13312 views

Stellar Mail Backup is a comprehensive tool to back up email accounts of MS Outlook, Outlook Express, and Windows Mail. It creates a backup image by a user-specified name at the destination. You can save this image to local drives, USB drives, network drives, or external drives. Further, the desired level of compression can be applied to save disk space.

In order to back up your email account configured in MS Outlook using Stellar Mail Backup, follow the given steps:

Start Stellar Mail Backup. The main interface of the software appears displaying options to create, restore, and schedule email backups. Click 'Backup'. This takes you to the backup creation wizard.

On the next screen, click 'Next'.

The software starts searching for all the email accounts installed on your computer. It displays a tree showing all email clients and the emails profiles configured in these clients.

Select the desired profile or the individual items to be backed up and click 'Next'.

Select a destination for saving the backup image. You can also save this image to network drives or external drives. After specifying the desired location, click 'Next'.

Specify a name for the output backup image and the current task name. Click 'Next'.

You can choose to provide a password to the file and send mail notification after completion of the backup task. You can do so using the 'Set Password' and 'Send Email' option respectively.

If you want to perform incremental or differential backups, you need to select the 'Set Consolidation' checkbox and specify the number of backups to be taken in 'Select Range'. Mark 'Image Consolidation' checkbox to verify the image after the process is finished. Click 'Next'.

Select 'Schedule Now' to schedule backup jobs or select 'Schedule Later' otherwise. If you click 'Schedule Now', you need to specify the frequency, data, and time for the scheduled task. Click 'Next'.

The software supports Full, Incremental, and Differential backups. In addition, you can choose to apply compression to the image. On the next screen, choose from the three backup types and select a desired level of compression. After specifying these options, click 'Next'.

In case you choose 'Schedule Later', the next screen will allow you to choose only the compression level. You need to specify the backup type at the time of performing this backup. Click 'Next'.

The wizard presents you with a summary of the backup task. Click 'Process Now' to start the backup process.

Once the process is completed, you will get a message 'Backup successfully completed'.
