Scroll down and look for a <strong>Preferences<\/strong> folder. In the list, look for &lsquo;<strong>com.apple.Preview.plist<\/strong>&rsquo; file and delete it.<\/p><p>5. Re-open the Preview tool. Your Mac will make a new PLIST file for the app.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">F. Restart Your Mac in Safe Mode<\/h3><p>Restarting your Mac in Safe Mode is another trick used to fix the Preview not working issue. Occasionally macOS <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/article\/manage-login-items-on-mac.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Login Items<\/a> can cause troubles with Preview. <strong>Safe mode<\/strong> on Mac loads only virtual extensions for it to work. The safe mode process will differ for Intel-based Mac and Mac with <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-am\/HT211814\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Apple silicon (M1)<\/a>.<\/p><p><strong>Intel-based Mac<\/strong>:<\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Shut down your Mac completely.<\/li><li>Now you need simultaneously press the <strong>Power<\/strong> button to turn your Mac on and press and hold down the <strong>Shift<\/strong> key.&nbsp;<\/li><li>You should see the login window; then, release the <strong>Shift<\/strong> key and log in.<\/li><li>There should be a &lsquo;<strong>Safe mode<\/strong>&lsquo; in the window&rsquo;s top corner.<\/li><\/ol><p><strong>Mac with Apple silicon<\/strong>:<\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Shut down your Mac.<\/li><li>Press and hold the <strong>Power<\/strong> button. Wait till the moment you see the <strong>Startup Options<\/strong> menu. When you see <strong>Startup Options<\/strong> on the screen, release the <strong>Power<\/strong> key. Choose <strong>Options<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Pick your startup disk, hold down the <strong>Shift<\/strong> key, and pick <strong>Continue in Safe Mode<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Release the <strong>Shift<\/strong> key and log in.<\/li><\/ol><p>After launching <strong>Safe mode<\/strong>, try to run Preview and open several files simultaneously. If Preview works correctly, the problem lies in the login items, so you need to remove all of them.<\/p><p><strong>Follow these steps to disable Login Items on Mac:<\/strong><\/p><p>1.
