So, the network needs to be stable and reliable to ensure smooth working of Office 365. Update Office 365 and Windows<\/strong><\/h3><p>Software updates bring bug fixes, performance improvements, and security patches. Thus, make sure to update the Office 365 applications, such as MS Outlook, to fix compatibility issues and ensure consistent performance.<\/p><p>To update Outlook 365,<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open Outlook and go to <strong>File &gt; Office Account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Update Options &gt; Update Now<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"581\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-1-1-1024x581.png\" alt=\"Microsoft Office Activate Window\" class=\"wp-image-152912 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-1-1-1024x581.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-1-1-300x170.png 300w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-1-1-768x436.png 768w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-1-1-150x85.png 150w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-1-1.png 1116w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Follow the onscreen prompts to update the MS Outlook.<\/li>\n<\/ul><p>Also, make sure to download and install Windows updates. Once updated, restart the system and then launch Outlook.<\/p><p>To avoid issues in future, make sure to enable automatic updates for Office 365. Follow the below steps to optimize network connectivity and ensure uninterrupted Office 365 performance:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deploy Quality of Service (QoS) policies for Office 365 to prioritize Office 365 traffic over other network traffic and ensure that Office 365 applications receive sufficient bandwidth for optimal performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement redundant network connections to minimize the impact of network outages or slowdowns and maintain connectivity, critical to ensure uninterrupted access to Office 365 services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regularly monitor network performance and latency to identify and resolve network-related bottlenecks or connectivity issues promptly. You can use tools, such as Ping or any other network monitoring software.<\/li>\n<\/ul><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Solution 4: Create a New Outlook Profile<\/strong><\/h3><p>Replace the corrupt or damaged Outlook profile with a new profile to resolve any conflicts and optimize Outlook 365 performance. The steps are as follows:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Close Outlook and press <strong>Windows + R.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type Control Panel and press the <strong>Enter<\/strong> key.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to<strong> User Accounts &gt;<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Mail &gt; Show Profiles.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"279\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-3-1.png\" alt=\"Mail Setup - Outlook\" class=\"wp-image-152915 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-3-1.png 433w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-3-1-300x193.png 300w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-3-1-150x97.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 433px) 100vw, 433px\" \/><\/figure><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the <strong>Add <\/strong>button and then type the new profile name.<\/li>\n<\/ul><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"296\" height=\"120\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-4-1.png\" alt=\"Outlook New Profile\" class=\"wp-image-152917 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-4-1.png 296w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-4-1-150x61.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 296px) 100vw, 296px\" \/><\/figure><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>OK <\/strong>and follow the onscreen prompts to sign in to this new profile using your email ID.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click<strong>&nbsp;Next <\/strong>and then click<strong> Finish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul><figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"682\" height=\"485\" data-id=\"152918\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-5-1.png\" alt=\"Outlook Account Added Confirmation\" class=\"wp-image-152918 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-5-1.png 682w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-5-1-300x213.png 300w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-5-1-150x107.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 682px) 100vw, 682px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Once the profile is created, set it as default and remove the old profile.<\/li>\n<\/ul><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"346\" height=\"407\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-6-1.png\" alt=\"Outlook Profile Name\" class=\"wp-image-152919 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-6-1.png 346w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-6-1-255x300.png 255w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/imgae-6-1-150x176.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 346px) 100vw, 346px\" \/><\/figure><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Finally, click <strong>Apply &gt;<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>OK.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul><p>At this stage, you can close all the dialog boxes and then start Outlook. The Outlook should open up with a new profile as default and download all your mail items from the server. This should resolve the performance issues in Outlook.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Solution 5: Rebuild Outlook Data File<\/strong><\/h3><p>If creating a new profile doesn&rsquo;t work for you, you can try to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/recreate-ost-file-outlook-2007-2010-2013-2016\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recreate a new OST file<\/a>. This helps replace the inconsistent, oversized, or partially damaged OST file, thereby improves the Office 365 mailbox performance. The steps are as follows:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Close Outlook and press <strong>Windows + R.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type <strong>Control Panel <\/strong>and click <strong>OK <\/strong>to open the Control Panel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to <strong>User Accounts<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Mail (Microsoft Outlook)<\/strong> and click on <strong>Data Files.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the list, choose the Outlook (.OST) data or email account and click <strong>Open File Location.<\/strong> This opens a new <strong>File Explorer <\/strong>window showing the OST file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, right-click the OST file and choose <strong>Rename.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the <strong>.bak<\/strong> extension at the end. This will create a backup copy of the original OST file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close all the windows and start Outlook.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outlook will try to fetch data from the OST file. Since you have renamed it, Outlook will create a new OST file and download all mail items from the server.<\/li>\n<\/ul><p>Once all mail items are downloaded and synchronized, you should see a boost in the Office 365 performance while using Outlook. This may happen when your profile is deleted or disabled from the Office 365 server. It&rsquo;s also possible that your existing account is removed and a new account is recreated by the admin. In such cases, there are chances of data loss.<\/p><p>In such situations, you can use an OST to PST converter tool, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/convert-ost-to-pst.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stellar Converter for OST<\/a>, to extract mail items from your orphaned OST file that belongs to a deleted or disabled Office 365 account and save them to PST format.<\/p><p>After the conversion, you can use the Outlook import\/export wizard to import this PST file into a new Outlook profile or account and get back access to all your mail items.
