In this post, we will be discussing the detailed process on how to recover mailboxes from Exchange recovery database.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"process-to-export-exchange-mailboxes-to-pst-from-recovery-database\"><strong>Process to Export Exchange Mailboxes to PST from Recovery Database<\/strong><\/h2><p>Here&rsquo;s the stepwise process to export Exchange mailboxes to PST from Recovery Database.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 1: Get the Database to Clean Shutdown State<\/strong><\/h3><p>Open Command Prompt as an administrator and use <strong>cd<\/strong> command to navigate to the Recovery Database (RDB) location. For instance, <strong>cd E:\\RDB1. <\/strong>Here, <strong>RDB1<\/strong> is the Recovery Database located on <strong>E: drive<\/strong>.<\/p><p>To get the database to Clean Shutdown state, use the following command:<\/p><pre class=\"wp-block-code command_container\"><code><strong>eseutil \/r E001 \/i \/d<\/strong><\/code><\/pre><p>The <strong>E001<\/strong> is the checkpoint file name in the <strong>RDB1<\/strong> database. For this, open <strong>Exchange Management Shell<\/strong> (EMS) and enter the following command:<\/p><pre class=\"wp-block-code command_container\"><code><strong>Mount-Database RDB1<\/strong><\/code><\/pre><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 3: Assign Mailbox Import Export Role to the User<\/strong><\/h3><p>To move or export mailboxes to PST, the user account you will be using must have the <strong>Mailbox Import Export<\/strong> role assigned. To assign the <strong>Mailbox Import Export Role<\/strong> to the user account, open <strong>Exchange Management Shell<\/strong> (EMS) and enter the following command:<\/p><pre class=\"wp-block-code command_container\"><code><strong>New-Managementroleassignment &ndash;Role &ldquo;Mailbox Import Export&rdquo; &ndash;User &ldquo;UserName&rdquo;<\/strong><\/code><\/pre><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 4: Create a Shared Folder<\/strong><\/h3><p>To save the PST files, you need to create a UNC file path or a shared folder location. For example,&nbsp;<strong>\\\\exsrv2013\\d$\\pst<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 5: Export the Mailboxes to PST<\/strong><\/h3><p>After assigning the required permissions and creating the shared folder, you can export the mailboxes from recovery database to PST using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/article\/new-mailbox-export-request.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>New-MailboxExportRequest<\/strong><\/a> command.
