Change the inheritance settings<\/h3><p>If the inheritance settings are enabled, you cannot preview or open photos saved in a folder on Windows PC. You need to disable inheritance permissions for the file or folder that contains the photos.<\/p><p><strong>Steps to disable Inherited Permissions in Windows 10:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open File Explorer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Right-click on the image file or folder. Click on the <strong>Advanced<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>Advanced Security Settings<\/strong> window, click on the <strong>Disable inheritance<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>OK.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul><p>Now you can open the image files and folder in Windows.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-10-reinstall-the-image-viewer-app-in-windows-using-powershell\">10. Reinstall the image viewer app in Windows using PowerShell<\/h3><p>If the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/fix-photos-app-crashing-windows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Windows image viewer program keeps crashing<\/a> or doesn&rsquo;t open any photo, reinstall it.
