You can accomplish this by scheduling automatic backup of a SQL Server database.<\/p><p>Taking SQL Server database backup automatically also saves time and the manual effort required to run database backup. An alternative is to create an automatic backup job using SQL Server Agent.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-method-2-taking-database-backup-automatically-using-sql-server-agent-jobs\">Method 2 &ndash; Taking Database Backup Automatically Using SQL Server Agent Jobs<\/h3><p>Follow these steps to create an automated backup on a scheduled basis using SQL Server Agent job:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In SSMS, expand SQL Server Agent in the <strong>&lsquo;Object Explorer&rsquo; <\/strong>pane, right-click on&nbsp;<strong>Jobs<\/strong>&nbsp;and click&nbsp;<strong>New job<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"358\" height=\"589\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/create-new-job-image-13-1.png\" alt=\"create new job\" class=\"wp-image-85710 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/create-new-job-image-13-1.png 358w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/create-new-job-image-13-1-182x300.png 182w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 358px) 100vw, 358px\" \/><\/figure><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When the &lsquo;New Job&rsquo; screen opens, you can see several configuration options for the automated backup job. You will see the new <strong>&lsquo;Automate DB Backup&rsquo;<\/strong> job.
