macOS allows you to create multiple user accounts on your Mac. So, you can have a primary admin account, and other user accounts with suitable privileges. But things don’t happen as you expect. Suppose, while deleting a user account, you accidentally delete an essential account by using “Users & Groups”<\/strong> in “System Preferences.”<\/strong> You select a wrong account, click the “-” sign, and choose the third option: “Delete the Home Folder.” This action removes the user account, together with all the files associated with the user. <\/p>

1.  Restore the Deleted Account<\/strong><\/h4>

You can restore the deleted user’s home folder on your Mac by using the user account’s dmg file. Steps are as follows:<\/p>

  2. Copy all the user’s files then go back to the Users<\/strong> folder again. Create a new folder and rename it with the deleted account name. Open it then paste the copied files.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Go to Apple<\/strong> menu > System Preferences<\/strong> > Users and Groups<\/strong>. Click the Lock icon, provide admin credentials, and then click Unlock<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Click the “+<\/strong>” icon and add a new user account. Add the Full Name with the same name as the deleted account folder—press tab to fill the account name automatically. Provide a password, verify the password, and add a password hint. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Click the Create User<\/strong> button. On the pop-up window, click the “Use Existing Folder<\/strong>” button. Restart your Mac and log in with the user account.<\/li>\n<\/ol>
