The procedure is broadly divided into the following phases. Perform each phase and then check if the issue has resolved. If it hasn&rsquo;t, move on to the next phase.<\/p><p><u>Phase 1: Determine the size of the database file<\/u><\/p><p>This phase includes the following steps:<\/p><ol>\n<li>Exit all applications.<\/li>\n<li>From <strong>Finder<\/strong>, click <strong>Go<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Home<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Documents<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From the <strong>Microsoft User Data<\/strong> folder, open the <strong>Office 2011 Identities<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In the Identities folder, click <strong>File<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Get Info<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Get Information<\/strong>. The system displays the size of the database file.<\/li>\n<\/ol><p><u>Phase 2: Take a back-up of the current database identity and rebuild the database<\/u><\/p><p>This phase includes the following steps:<\/p><ol>\n<li>From <strong>Finder<\/strong>, click <strong>Go &ndash;<\/strong>&gt; <strong>Home &ndash;<\/strong>&gt; <strong>Documents<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From the <strong>Microsoft User Data <\/strong>folder, open the <strong>Office 2008 Identities <\/strong>or the <strong>Office 2004 Identities <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select your identity file, right-click, and select <strong>Duplicate<\/strong>. The system creates a duplicate of your identity file.<\/li>\n<li>Exit all applications.<\/li>\n<li>Start Entourage while holding down the <strong>Options (alt) <\/strong>key and don&rsquo;t release the key until the system displays the <strong>Database Utility <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select your database file and click <strong>Rebuild Database<\/strong>. Click <strong>Continue<\/strong>.
