However, migration can be tricky. Without a proper migration plan, you will definitely face problems.<\/p><p>Sometimes, even with proper planning, you encounter unforeseen issues. Below, we will be discussing a particular error that may occur while creating a move request from an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/article\/migrate-exchange-to-office365.php\">on-premises server to Office 365<\/a>.<\/p><p>When performing a move request, you will get an error in the report, saying StalledDueToTarget_Processor. See the complete error message.<\/p><pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">{DataExportTransientException: MapiFxProxyTransientException: The data export was cancelled due to a timeout. The destination didn't respond in time. --&gt; The data export was cancelled due to a timeout. The destination didn't respond in time., DataExportTransientException: MapiFxProxyTransientException: The data export was cancelled due to a timeout.<\/pre><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"identify-and-investigate-the-&ldquo;stalledduetotarget_processor&rdquo;-error\"><strong>Identify and Investigate the &ldquo;StalledDueToTarget_Processor&rdquo; Error<\/strong><\/h2><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The error can be seen when you run the report after executing the move request using the PowerShell command under the Exchange Management Shell (EMS). The command to view the report is Get-MoveRequest, along with Get-MoveRequestStatistics.<\/li>\n<\/ul><pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">Get-MoveRequest -Identity   | Get-MoveRequestStatistics -IncludeReport | FL<\/pre><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"807\" height=\"65\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/move-requests-exchange-management-shell.png\" alt=\"move requests exchange management shell\" class=\"wp-image-97999 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/move-requests-exchange-management-shell.png 807w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/move-requests-exchange-management-shell-300x24.png 300w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/move-requests-exchange-management-shell-768x62.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 807px) 100vw, 807px\" \/><\/figure><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You must check the event viewer application log to see if there are any specific errors or warnings that would indicate where the problem might be. You must also check if the problem is associated with a particular mailbox or set of mailboxes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once this is established and there is no clear indication, the next step is to investigate the configuration of the Exchange Server. You need to make sure that all is working fine and the Exchange Server is healthy. The external access is working fine. Ensure that the Exchange Server is updated to the latest Cumulative Update (CU) and its underlying operating system is also fully-updated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is important to trace back the changes done on the server. Check if any changes were made on the network and infrastructure which might have affected the network connectivity or operational function of the Exchange Server.<br><br>Most probably, the issue is coming from the Client Access Server, also known as the CAS service, in on-premises server, when the MRS proxy for the mailbox move is configured locally.<\/li>\n<\/ul><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-fix-&ldquo;stalledduetotarget_processor&rdquo;-error?\"><strong>How to Fix &ldquo;StalledDueToTarget_Processor&rdquo; Error?<\/strong><\/h2><p>One of the solutions to fix the problem is to change the configuration file of the Mailbox Replication locally.<\/p><p><strong>Step 1: <\/strong>First, you need to locate the file <strong>MSExchangeMailboxReplication.exe.config<\/strong> file and update it with some things to retry the move request.<\/p><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The file is in the Program Files, Microsoft, Exchange Server, V15, Bin folder. The V15 represents Exchange Server 2013. If you have a newer Exchange Server, the folder name would represent the version number of the server.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"543\" height=\"229\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/MSExchangeMailboxReplication.exe_.png\" alt=\"MSExchangeMailboxReplication.exe\" class=\"wp-image-98000 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/MSExchangeMailboxReplication.exe_.png 543w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/MSExchangeMailboxReplication.exe_-300x127.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 543px) 100vw, 543px\" \/><\/figure><p><strong>Step 2: <\/strong>Once located, open the file with Notepad or any other text editor and locate the <strong>DataImportTimeout<\/strong> line. Now, before editing this file, it is important to take a safe copy of the file and save it in the same location to revert if needed.<\/p><p>Once the copy is made, change the value to <strong>20<\/strong> and save the file.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"269\" height=\"74\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/maxmrsconnection-and-data-import-timeout.png\" alt=\"maxmrsconnection and data import timeout\" class=\"wp-image-98005 apply-gradient-on-post-images\"><\/figure><p><strong>Step 3: <\/strong>After the file is saved, restart the <strong>Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication<\/strong> service. To do so,<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"229\" height=\"125\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/windows-run-command.png\" alt=\"windows run command\" class=\"wp-image-98001 apply-gradient-on-post-images\"><\/figure><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Right-click on the <strong>Start<\/strong> Button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong>Run.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul><p><strong>Step 4: <\/strong>Enter <strong>services.msc<\/strong> and click on OK.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"417\" height=\"233\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/open-windows-exchange-server-services.png\" alt=\"open windows exchange server services\" class=\"wp-image-98002 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/open-windows-exchange-server-services.png 417w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/open-windows-exchange-server-services-300x168.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 417px) 100vw, 417px\" \/><\/figure><p><strong>Step 5: <\/strong>Find the <strong>Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication<\/strong> service.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"681\" height=\"182\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/restart-Microsoft-Exchange-Mailbox-Replication.png\" alt=\"restart Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication\" class=\"wp-image-98003 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/restart-Microsoft-Exchange-Mailbox-Replication.png 681w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/restart-Microsoft-Exchange-Mailbox-Replication-300x80.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 681px) 100vw, 681px\" \/><\/figure><p><strong>Step 6: <\/strong>Right-click on the service and click on <strong>Restart.<\/strong><\/p><p>Alternatively, you can use PowerShell to run the command Restart-Service with the following parameters.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"641\" height=\"138\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/restart-Microsoft-Exchange-Mailbox-Replication-using-powershell.png\" alt=\"restart Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication using powershell\" class=\"wp-image-98004 apply-gradient-on-post-images\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/restart-Microsoft-Exchange-Mailbox-Replication-using-powershell.png 641w, https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/restart-Microsoft-Exchange-Mailbox-Replication-using-powershell-300x65.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 641px) 100vw, 641px\" \/><\/figure><p><em>If your setup includes more than one Client Access Server (CAS), the above modification needs to be done on each server.<\/em><\/p><p>If you have other move requests, it&rsquo;s better to take a note beforehand as these might get interrupted, and you would need to re-run them after the restart of the service. Normally, it would take up to four hours for the migration batches to resume.<\/p><p>After this change, it&rsquo;s important to monitor the event viewer for any issues that might re-occur.<\/p><p>In a normal scenario, this should work. However, you need to consider the fact that this might re-occur. The problem may not get fixed as each setup is different.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"conclusion\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h2><p>Alternatively, you can use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellarinfo.com\/exchange-migration.php\">Stellar Migrator for Exchange<\/a> as a migration application. The software can create multiple jobs for various mailboxes across all versions of Exchange Server, enabling seamless migration of primary mailboxes, archived mailboxes, shared mailboxes, disabled mailboxes, and public folders directly to a new Exchange server or Office 365. With this migration tool, you can easily migrate to Office 365 or Microsoft 365 and other Exchange Server as it allows you to export directly to the system with manual or automatic mailbox matching. You have other features, like parallel export, continuation in case of interruption, and set mailbox priority to export a set of importantly marked
