Step 1:- The main interface of Stellar Wipe is shown above. Select ‘File Wipe’ to wipe selected files and folders, free space, internet activity, system traces, recent file histories, and instant messaging. Select ‘Drive Wipe’ for wiping full hard drives. Click ‘Continue’.
Step 2:- If you choose ‘Drive Wipe’, the next screen shows a list of hard drives attached to your computer. Select the drives you need to wipe ad click ‘Continue’.
Step 3:- You will get a list of wiping algorithms supported by Stellar Wipe. Choose a wipe algorithm for the ‘Drive Wipe’ task and then click ‘Continue’. Click ‘Start Wiping’ to begin the wiping process.
Step 4:- If you select ‘File Wipe’ on the main screen, you will get a list of wipe options as shown above. Select ‘Wipe File/Folder’ on the left and click ‘+’ to add files and folders to be wiped. You can use ‘-’ button to remove a file from the list displayed under selected items. Click ‘Start Wiping’ to permanently delete these files and folders.
Step 5:- If you select ‘Wipe Free Space’, a list of all volumes in your system is displayed. Select the volume from which you need to wipe free space and then click ‘Start Wiping’ to initiate the wiping process.
Step 6:- Stellar Wipe allows wiping files and folders directly from the system. To do so, right-click the desired drive to be wiped, select ‘Services’, and then click ‘Shred Using Stellar Wipe’. The above window will be displayed on the screen. Choose specific files and folders you need to wipe and click ‘Wipe’.
Step 7:- When you click ‘Stellar Wipe’ on the menu bar and choose ‘Preferences’, the ‘WipeSettings’ window will be displayed. In this window, you can change General settings, choose a preferred Wipe Algorithm, schedule different wiping tasks, or cancel the scheduled tasks.
