Deep Scan is an advanced scanning feature available in Stellar Data Recovery Professional for Mac that rigorously scans the Mac storage drive based on file signatures. This scanning feature helps to recover data from a severe corrupt drive. The in-depth scan process requires scanning of every sector and block of storage drive; hence it takes more time than Quick Scan, but the scan result is exhaustive and accurate.

You can toggle on the Deep Scan switch from the Select Location screen when your Mac storage drive is formatted, corrupt, or inaccessible. Also, the software automatically switches to Deep Scan when the drive is severely corrupt, and no data is found in the Quick Scan.

In case of empty Trash, you can click the Scan button after selecting the storage drive to perform a Quick Scan. If you couldn't find the files that you are looking for, click the Deep Scan link present at the bottom to rescan the drive based on the advanced scanning algorithm.
