I have followed your instructions and it worked for about 2 weeks and now Outlook 2016 will no longer display any results.
I have tried to rebuild the index, if I go to advanced properties of the pst file it is the check box for allowing this to be included in the index is not checked. I can check it and close the properties and go back in and it will be unchecked again.

If I choose to set up a new profile, and then I go to index options, I still see it indexing 36xxx and so on, like it did not stop the old profile.
Do you recommend to let the outlook finish the updating of the exchange offline file until showing “All Folders Are Updated” and then go to advanced and press the rebuild option?

this problem is starting to irritate me really badly.
I’ve tried rebuilding the index, repaired the pst file, also tried creating a new profile and that doesn’t help at all. a thing that I noticed as well as when it’s updating the inbox whilst I start a new profile.
but once it’s all done and I try to search it just says no results.
is there any way of rectifying this as this is starting to be an annoying situation.
