Turning Ransomware Chaos into Recovery: Restoring Business Continuity for ODITINFO SARL

Stellar® Repair for MS SQL Recovered All Ransomware-Damaged Databases After Standard Recovery Tools Failed

Introduction:

ODITINFO SARL is an IT consulting firm that helps businesses resolve complex technology challenges. One of their clients suffered a severe ransomware attack that damaged their entire Microsoft SQL Server environment. This case study looks at the challenges faced, the impact on business operations, the solutions attempted, and how Stellar® Repair for MS SQL helped resolve the crisis completely.

Background:

ODITINFO SARL provides IT consulting and support services to businesses facing technology challenges. When one of their clients was hit by a ransomware attack, every SQL Server database used to store customer records, daily transactions, and internal business files became corrupted and could no longer be opened. The incident put the client's entire operations at risk and called for an urgent, reliable recovery solution.

“

Statement from the customer:

Stellar Repair for MS SQL resolved the issue extremely effectively. It successfully repaired and recovered all of the damaged SQL database files that other recovery tools were unable to handle. The recovered databases were fully usable, allowing us to restore the client's systems and resume normal business operations quickly.

”

Impact on Business:

Nobody could access the data: All the databases were unreadable, so staff couldn't get to the information they needed to do their jobs.
Work came to a standstill: Day-to-day tasks couldn't happen without access to the systems, resulting in lost hours across the whole team.
Money was at risk: The longer the systems stayed down, the more it cost — in lost time, delayed customer work, and the effort needed to fix things manually.
The client's reputation was on the line: Being unable to help customers or meet deadlines began to hurt trust in the business.
Rebuilding manually wasn't realistic: Even attempting to reconstruct the databases by hand would have taken weeks and cost a great deal.

Attempted Solutions:

Microsoft's built-in tools: SQL Server's own repair and restore features could not handle the damage caused by the ransomware.
Other third-party software: Several well-known SQL recovery programs were tested; none could fix the corrupted database files either.

After running out of options, the team searched for something more powerful and came across Stellar® Repair for MS SQL.

Solution and Benefits:

ODITINFO SARL ran Stellar® Repair for MS SQL on the damaged database files. The tool repaired every corrupted database completely, recovering all the data inside without any loss — succeeding where Microsoft's native tools and other third-party software had failed.
The benefits were immediate: the client's systems were back online quickly, staff resumed normal operations without long delays, and there was no need to manually rebuild any data — saving substantial time and cost. ODITINFO SARL also received excellent support from Stellar's technical team throughout the process, giving them added confidence during a critical situation.

Conclusion:

A ransomware attack had left a client's entire SQL Server environment broken, and every recovery tool tried had failed. Stellar® Repair for MS SQL recovered all the databases and all the data, getting the business back on its feet quickly.

For IT consultants like ODITINFO SARL who deal with data loss — especially after attacks like ransomware — having a dependable recovery tool can make all the difference. Stellar® Repair for MS SQL proved it can handle even the most severe cases when standard tools cannot.
