Wiping Options

(Note: For the above mentioned two option, i.e. 'Wipe File', 'Wipe Folder', the selected files or folders are wiped using default Zeroes algorithm. However, you can change the wiping algorithm from the Setting dialog in the Tools menu.)

 

Wipe Free Space : You can use this option to wipe off unfilled sectors of the cluster. This removes all traces of deleted data in the unused space of the system. All you need to do is just select a volume from which you wish to wipe off free space and click 'Wipe'.

Wipe System Traces : This feature allows you to wipe all system related information from the Operating system, such as System related logs.

Log Report : This option provides you with the log report of the wiping task. You can view, save or discard the log report.

How can I wipe my files?

 

You should note that Stellar Wipe can permanently wipe any file from hard drive. Once the wiping process gets finished, the wiped file can never be recovered. You can select a single file or an entire folder to wipe. Moreover, you can define a time to wipe and can even choose the wiping algorithm to be used for the wiping of the selected file.

 

To wipe file:

1. In the Wiping Options screen, select the 'Wipe File' option.
2. Click on 'Browse', locate the file and then select the file that you want to wipe. Then, click on 'Open'.
3. The detailed information regarding the selected file will be shown in the Wipe File screen. Click on 'Start Wiping' to initiate the wiping process.

 

At the end of the process, a message will be shown about the successful completion of the wiping process.
